W Scottsdale gives its iconic Living Room a desert-inspired makeover
W Scottsdale has officially debuted its newly transformed Living Room, reimagining the signature gathering space as an all-day destination that moves from meetings and remote work by day to cocktails, dining and live music after dark.
Located in the heart of Scottsdale’s Entertainment District, W Scottsdale has long blurred the line between hotel and nightlife destination. The redesigned Living Room leans even further into that identity, creating a space intended as much for locals stopping in for drinks or music as travelers staying at the property.

A Living Room inspired by the Sonoran Desert
Designed by MONOGRAM at BBGM, the new space draws its palette, textures and movement from the surrounding Sonoran Desert.
Canyon desert rose, dune and sun-washed neutrals create the foundation, while lighting changes throughout the day to evoke the transition from sunrise to sunset.
One particularly intriguing design element is a recurring “blue thread,” inspired by the rare presence of water moving through the desert. Organic curves influenced by desert serpent forms add another layer of movement throughout the space.
The renovation also puts renewed emphasis on W Scottsdale’s grand staircase and incorporates raised platforms, banquettes and smaller gathering areas throughout the Living Room.
During the day, integrated charging tables and task-friendly lighting make the space suitable for meetings, remote work or casual get-togethers. As the sun goes down, warmer lighting shifts the atmosphere toward cocktails, music and nightlife.
“W Scottsdale has long played a defining role in Scottsdale’s social scene, bringing together visitors and locals through music, culture and memorable experiences,” says David Cronin, general manager of W Scottsdale. “From morning meetings to evening cocktails, the new Living Room reflects our passion for delivering spaces that are as dynamic as the guests who experience them.”
Live music takes over three nights a week
The redesign also comes with new programming.
Living Room Live will bring emerging artists to the hotel every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, with additional music programming, cultural collaborations and special events expected throughout the year.
Beginning daily at 4 p.m., the Living Room also shifts into its evening food and beverage experience.
Chef Jason Franey has created a menu of elevated shareable plates ranging from fresh seafood and Roman-style flatbreads to sandwiches and desserts, accompanied by a new selection of signature cocktails.
Part of a bigger transformation at W Scottsdale
The Living Room is the latest in a series of updates at W Scottsdale.
In 2025, the hotel welcomed Sexy Roman, a design-forward Italian restaurant operated by Alliance Hospitality Group. The property has also expanded its accommodations in 2026 with a new Presidential Suite, joining a collection of 45 suites, including 18 Penthouse Suites.
Later this fall, W Scottsdale plans to unveil an enhanced FIT fitness center with a new indoor-outdoor training space.
The hotel’s other longtime amenities include WET Deck, featuring what the property says is Arizona’s only chilled hotel pool, and AWAY Spa.
For locals, though, the Living Room may be the update worth watching. With daytime workspace, cocktails, food and three nights of live music each week, W Scottsdale is positioning its newly redesigned centerpiece as more than a hotel lobby. It’s aiming to become a Scottsdale gathering place from morning to well after sunset.
