What I learned from my permanent jewelry experience
I love the look of permanent jewelry, but haven’t been sure it would work for me, especially bracelets. As someone who is constantly typing, having something dangling or pressing into my wrist every day has kept me from taking the leap.
Now that I have experienced the permanent jewelry firsthand, consider me converted. I am obsessed with my bracelet from Chained Up.

How long does permanent jewelry take?
Once you pick your bracelet, necklace, or anklet chain, the application process typically takes only a few seconds. This surprised me most!
Permanent jewelry options
What I learned from Chained Up’s lovely staff is that there are many options to suit your lifestyle preferences (including chains that don’t get in the way of typing)!
What sizes are permanent jewelry chains?
Let’s start with chain styles and sizes. Chained Up has the largest chain collection in Colorado, ranging from dainty to chunky. I chose one of the most delicate chains, somewhere between 1.0-1.2 mm.
You can also specify the slack of your chain. For example, I didn’t want much slack on my bracelet, so it’s close to my wrist.

How much does permanent jewelry cost in Denver?
Chained Up’s jewelry pricing is on par with other Denver permanent jewelry stores.
- 14K Solid Gold: Solid 14K chains are the priciest, coming in at $140+ per chain. Although the highest-cost, the price point for Chained Up’s 14K solid gold chains is actually more affordable than local competitors, starting between $160 and $185.
- 14k Gold Filled: $90+ for bracelets, $105+ for anklets and $120+ for necklaces. All chains have a brass core and a thick layer of 14K gold.
- Sterling Silver: $80+ for bracelets, $90+ for anklets and $100+ for necklaces. These chains are high-quality, made of sterling silver with a bright, polished finish.
What is the plus pricing?
Plus pricing refers to optional charm add-ons.
Charms are $15
Connectors are $25 and can be used to create hand chains, linking a bracelet to a finger ring.
Birthstones are $30
