What to order at Across the Pond

There is no hard and fast rule about what to order or how to order at ATP. To maximize your dining adventure, we suggest starting with sashimi, ceviche and crudo, followed by nigiri and sushi rolls.

Trust me, you’ll also want to make sure one of the House Specialties lands on your table. I highly recommend the Sashimi Assortment with Toro, Yellowtail Salmon and Shiromi. Each piece of sashimi has a distinct taste profile, making for an equally delicious and dynamic dish.

The MRKT (market board) features specialty, limited-time offerings such as Kampachi Carpaccio, Hamachi Kama and Tuna Crudo.

Standout dishes we tried:

  • “The tuna crudo from the MRKT board was out of this world, served in a garlic and spicy pepper oil that added heat without overwhelming the fish.”
  • Sashimi Assortment with Toro (for all the reasons outlined above); it’s also ideal for sharing.
  • Akira roll with spicy salmon, bell pepper, spicy tamarind sauce, topped with salmon and a garlic crumble.
  • Natsu roll with spicy yellowtail, cucumber, avocado, calamansi and grapefruit, topped with yellowtail and micro cilantro.

Since ATP markets itself as a “craft cocktail lounge with some of the best fish in the Valley, it offers a robust libation menu. Cocktail line-ups are on a monthly rotation and feature creations like:

  • Riding the Pine: Hayman Navy-strength gin, Lillet Rouge lime and passion fruit.
  • Berry White: Berry bombed Jelinik Fernet, nigori sake, lemon and lime orgeat.
  • Commitment Issues: Kuro kabuto sake, Kiyomi rum, cantaloupe puree, lime and agave.

For those who prefer N/A beverages, the bar staff is ready to make refreshing and creative mocktails.

Gluten-free and dietary accommodations

Notably, Across the Pond will work with dietary restrictions. I appreciated that the wait and kitchen staff went out of their way to adjust my order to accommodate my gluten-free preferences. Only minor alterations were needed, preserving the original integrity of each elevated dish.

Is Across the Pond worth visiting?

Each dish features thoughtful modern twists and flavor combinations. The environment is so laid back, you’ll forget you’re in the midst of what I would consider fine dining. The sashimi, nigiri and sushi are like nothing I’ve sampled in the Valley.
