There’s a disturbance in the Force; It’s the best kind of disruption, or shall we say addition, to Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge. Disneyland introduces new characters, storylines and immersive updates for Star Wars obsessives and those new to the franchise.

What’s new at Galaxy’s Edge in 2026

One of the biggest Galaxy Edge shake-ups this summer is new appearances of Star War’s most beloved characters.

Iconic Star Wars characters and where to find them

Disneyland wouldn’t be complete without appearances from Mickey, Donald, Captain Hook, Chip, Dale, all the Disney princesses and characters we’ve come to know and love. Now, Disneyland visitors have even more character interactions to seek out at Galaxy’s edge.

Guests will now encounter a lineup that reads like a hall of galactic legends, including Darth Vader, Leia OrganaHan Solo and Luke Skywalker, alongside returning favorites like Rey and roaming Resistance fighters.

Here’s where you can spot your favorite Star Wars characters:

  • Luke Skywalker will roam the outpost
  • Leia Organa may be spotted near the Millennium Falcon
  • Han Solo will also linger around his prized ship
  • Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian and Grogu gather near the marketplace
  • R2-D2 will continue to roll through the land
  • Rey is often patrolling around the Resistance camp

Beyond these “typical sightings,” expect organic, in-world encounters. Vader may be searching. Han may be lingering. Luke may simply … appear.

The land now breathes with music pulled from the original six films, featuring compositions by John Williams.

Hyperspace Mountain returns to Disneyland

For a limited time, one of the park’s most beloved overlays makes its comeback.

It’s always my favorite time of year when Space Mountain converts to a magic Star Wars high-speed space adventure!

Why this update matters

This isn’t just an expansion, it’s a vital shift in how the land tells stories.

Galaxy’s Edge was originally anchored to a single timeline. This update breaks that constraint, allowing multiple eras to coexist in one immersive environment.

For visitors, that means no two trips feel quite the same.

Did you know? Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland…

  • Spans more than 14 acres
  • Features two major attractions
  • Includes more than a dozen venues
  • Offers nearly 700 unique retail items
  • Houses over 7,000 props
