Why now is the perfect time to ski Aspen Snowmass

Winter is officially flexing in Aspen Snowmass. A sustained storm cycle has dropped up to 36 inches of snow in seven days in mid February, marking the highest weekly snowfall total of the season and transforming all four mountains into a full-blown Colorado powder playground.

Serving as the ultimate slopeside home base, Limelight Aspen and Limelight Snowmass offer seamless access to the action plus relaxed après moments when boots come off and cocktails come out.

With fresh snow continuing to fall and the most terrain currently open in Colorado, now is a standout moment to experience Aspen and Snowmass at their winter best.

Travelers can fly directly into Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE), making it easier than ever to transition from cabin pressure to powder turns.

Limelight Aspen sits steps from Aspen Mountain and the Silver Queen Gondola, while Limelight Snowmass delivers premier ski-in, ski-out access adjacent to the Elk Camp Gondola in Base Village. Guests can also take advantage of the properties’ all-wheel drive Audi Experience or shuttle service for effortless mountain hopping.

After a day carving fresh lines, après comes alive at Limelight Lounge at both hotels, each serving as a social hub for alpine dining and craft cocktails. Outdoor hot tubs and firepits offer a front-row seat to snow-covered peaks as the sky turns cotton-candy pink over the Rockies.

Snow totals in late February and March/April worth packing for:

  • Up to 36 inches of snowfall in one week
  • 18 inches in 48 hours at Snowmass and Aspen Highlands
  • Up to 10 inches in 24 hours across the mountains
  • Base depths ranging from approximately 30 to 57 inches
  • Thousands of acres of terrain open across all four mountains
