Glamping on trend
Backland features ten luxury glamping tents, a picturesque window-enclosed restaurant and a pond with beach, among other luxe amenities that make it a perfect backdrop for family vacations (made even comfier with new Bunkbed Fort offering), couples getaways or a solo trip that feeds the soul.
Backland’s luxury glamping experience aligns with many of 2025 hottest travel trends including:
Detour destinations
Expedia recently reported that detour destinations or getaways close to popular destinations are rising in popularity as travelers seek out locations with fewer crowds. With 63% of travelers more likely to visit a place like Williams, AZ — located about an hour away from The Grand Canyon, and enjoy the perks of these underrated escapes.
Williams is a picturesque town filled with outdoor adventure and historic landmarks far enough from the crowds but close enough to make Backland the perfect jumping-off point for iconic landmarks like the Grand Canyon or Sedona.

Natural wonders
Vrbo reported on how 80% of travelers are seeking places that offer front-row seats to natural wonders and the beauty of planet Earth and even experience JOMO: the joy of missing out and leaving the hustle and bustle of everyday life to relax, disconnect and protect your peace.
On a clear night, Backland may have the most impressive night skies one has ever seen. Deep in the national forest guests are far removed from the light and pollution of the city and can admire the bright stars through the telescope.
During the day, guests can glimpse at some of the many bird species that live in the resort’s forests. Regulars include bald eagles, ospreys, blue heron, turkeys, geese, ducks and many many more.
According to RVshare’s Travel Trend Report 2025, Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park has been named the “Best Outdoor Destination” for 2025. Experience one of the world’s natural wonders — the Grand Canyon — where 277 miles of the Colorado River carve through layered red rock, revealing millions of years of geological history. Backland has partnered with top-tier tour companies to make exploring the Grand Canyon easier for adventure seekers. Available excursions include:
- Private guided tours of the Canyon, departing directly from Backland
- Red Rock Jeep Tours, offering historical insights into Sedona’s legendary Red Rock Country
- Helicopter tours, providing breathtaking aerial views of the Canyon’s dramatic landscapes
- Hiking the Sycamore Falls Trail, a scenic trek just five minutes from Backland
