CHoP Chandler ‘raises the steaks’ with Cut of the Week series
At CHoP Steak & Seafood, the art of pairing has always been part of the story. On Sunday, Nov. 16, that story takes a spirited new turn with Aged & Distilled: A CHoP Pairing Affair, a one-night-only buffet dinner celebrating the craftsmanship of whiskey, tequila, and the dishes that bring them together.

Where whiskey’s fire meets tequila’s soul
Designed by Executive Chef Diego Caballero, the evening highlights how two distinct worlds of flavor — whiskey’s oak-aged depth and tequila’s earthy vibrance — can meet in perfect harmony. Caballero says the idea came from his love of both spirits and the challenge of finding common ground between them.
“Whiskey tells a story of patience and fire,” he says. “Tequila’s about energy, freshness, and soul. When you put them side by side, you start to see how they can actually complement each other.”
Guests will enjoy a chef-curated buffet of CHoP favorites paired with eight spirit tastings, including four whiskeys and four tequilas, plus two handcrafted cocktails included in the experience. Each pairing was built around the spirits’ flavor profiles, from smoky and oaky to bright and citrusy, designed to spark conversation as much as appetite.

A flavor-forward evening of food, music and discovery
Here’s a taste of what’s in store:
- A whiskey and tequila buffet dinner featuring CHoP’s wood-fired favorites and seasonal chef selections.
- Eight guided tasting pours: four whiskey and four tequila varieties exploring notes of smoke, spice, oak and agave.
- Two handcrafted cocktails included in the experience, each designed to highlight the spirits’ balance and character.

A laid-back, chef-driven tasting experience
Set on CHoP’s open-air patio, the event invites guests to mix, mingle, and sip at their own rhythm. Caballero says he wanted the night to feel more like a backyard gathering than a formal tasting — fun, relaxed and a little unexpected.
“We’ll have live music, great food, and that laid-back CHoP vibe,” he explains. “You don’t have to be a whiskey expert or a tequila fan to enjoy it, you just have to show up hungry and curious.”

CHoP’s first dual-spirit pairing dinner
“Aged & Distilled” also marks a first for CHoP Chandler. While the restaurant has hosted countless pairing dinners, this is its first event blending two spirits in one experience. Caballero shares that it’s a little risky, but that’s what makes it exciting.
“It pushes us creatively,” he says. “We get to show guests something new, and maybe help them find a new favorite in the process.”

With a one-night-only menu and CHoP’s signature hospitality, “Aged & Distilled” promises to be an evening of flavor, music, and discovery, where the fire of whiskey meets the soul of tequila, and every pour tells a story.
