Houston Art Car Parade Weekend: April 9–12, 2026
Culminating in the iconic Houston Art Car Parade on Saturday, April 11, the event draws more than 315,000 spectators each year, making it the largest free cultural event in Houston.
A four-day celebration of creativity in Houston
Hosted by the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, the weekend transforms Houston into a living, breathing canvas.
From bold, larger-than-life sculptures on wheels to intricately designed vehicles layered with storytelling, the parade is the centerpiece of a citywide celebration that makes art accessible to everyone.
Attendance remains free and open to the public, reinforcing the organization’s mission to bring creativity into everyday spaces.

Featured artist Phillip Pyle II brings bold storytelling
Serving as the 2026 featured artist is Phillip Pyle II, a visual artist, graphic designer and photographer known for his layered, thought-provoking work.
Pyle’s art explores themes of race and popular culture through striking compositions and graphic storytelling, making him a natural fit for an event defined by fearless creativity and self-expression.
Grand Marshals spotlight Houston’s sports and music culture
This year’s Grand Marshals highlight two defining elements of Houston’s identity: sports and music.
Brian Ching, a Houston dynamo, original and former U.S. Men’s National Team player, represents the city’s deep-rooted soccer culture, especially as Houston prepares to host FIFA World Cup matches this summer.
Kam Franklin, singer, songwriter and frontwoman of The Suffers, brings Houston’s vibrant music scene to the forefront. A Grammy Award recipient and longtime advocate for independent artists, Franklin continues to amplify the city’s creative voice on national and global stages.

Supporting art beyond the parade
Funds raised during the event help power initiatives like Art Cars in Schools, a program that brings hands-on creative education into classrooms across the region.
The curriculum aligns with Texas educational standards while encouraging students to explore art in unconventional, imaginative ways, extending the parade’s impact far beyond a single weekend.
