Since its introduction to the Valley in 2017, The Sicilian Butcher has gained widespread popularity for its build-your-own meal experience with gourmet meatballs and Sicilian-style bruschetta boards. A first of its kind to debut in Phoenix, The Sicilian Butcher has continued its success in the Valley alongside The Sicilian Baker, the Italian bakery attached to each Butcher renowned for its innovative build-your-own cannoli bar experience. The Maggiore Group, a restaurant powerhouse co-founded by Chef Joey Maggiore, has since joined forces with the Savory Fund to expand the brand into neighboring states since their partnership formed in 2021.

“There’s nothing quite like The Sicilian Butcher — from the dishes to the décor to the hospitality. It’s truly an unforgettable experience,” says Andrew K. Smith, managing director and co-founder of Savory. “We’ve had the privilege of partnering with The Maggiore Group on two of their experiential brands — Hash Kitchen and The Sicilian Butcher — and together, we have an exciting road ahead of bringing these concepts to new parts of the country.”

From Arizona to Texas

The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker currently have three operating locations across Metro Phoenix, including its newest one located in Chandler, Peoria and Phoenix. The exciting national expansion to Texas follows the success of sister concept, Hash Kitchen’s national expansion with six out-of-state locations across the Southwest, the newest located at 3240 Tracewood Way in Fort Worth, Texas.

Continuing to be innovators in Italian cuisine, each Sicilian Butcher location will feature the same offerings including Chef Joey signature dishes, build-your-own pastas, Sicilian family platters, bruschetta boards and more. Guests can also expect to find the same, authentic Sicilian cannoli, rotating gelato flavors and Italian pastry classics such as the lobster tail and sfogliatelle at The Sicilian Baker.

“My father Tomaso was a Sicilian-born chef who followed his dreams to America and became a MasterChef with over 40 restaurants in his career,” says Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group. My dream was always to start a restaurant with the same love for Italian cuisine that he had. Sicilian Butcher is that. To see this passion and dream become a household name is nothing less than spectacular. Get ready, Texas. The Sicilians are coming.”

Timeline of Texas additions

The new restaurants are expected to open over the next two years throughout Texas in the following cities, bringing the concept’s total to six locations:

  • Fort Worth, Texas (Opening July, 2024)
  • North Dallas, Texas (Early 2025)
  • San Antonio, Texas (Mid 2025)
