Southwesterners still seeking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner or a more modern culinary twist in their autumnal gathering need look no further than some of Arizona’s most treasured resorts. Whether it’s amidst the red rocks of Sedona, the heart of Downtown Phoenix — or one of the many picturesque desert-scape destinations throughout the Grand Canyon state — there are plenty of places for family and friends to celebrate and luxuriate for Thanksgiving in Arizona.

Andaz Scottsdale offers two dining options for Thanksgiving in two distinct areas of the resort for families looking for a venue to celebrate. Weft & Warp has multiple options for dish selections and family-style traditional sides.

Enchantment Resort & Mii amo 

Che Ah Chi

Enchantment Resort and Mii amo curated a Thanksgiving prix fixe dinner at Che Ah Chi, open exclusively to guests with reservations. Guests are invited to the Thanksgiving Gathering Circle in the Crystal Grotto to share personal reflections and meditate on gratitude. Festivities include a Turkey Trot guided run on Thanksgiving morning and a high-energy Turkey Burner fitness class the following day (both benefiting the Verde Valley Sanctuary).

Hotel Valley Ho 

ZuZu

The festive ZuZu Thanksgiving dinner includes a chef-attended starter buffet, entrées ranging from apple-brined turkey with all the fixings to pan-seared scallops and roasted pork shank, and sweets including pumpkin pie and cranberry cheesecake. 

For those seeking a chef-prepared family meal to go, the package includes an organic whole turkey, whipped potatoes, giblet gravy, sweet potato gratin, stuffing, butternut squash soup, brussels sprouts and bacon hash, cranberry chutney and dinner rolls. Choose a whole-turkey package that serves eight to 10 people ($349 for seasoned/uncooked turkey, $399 for fully cooked turkey), or a half-turkey package that serves four to six people ($249, with fully cooked turkey). Whole pies are also available and feed eight to 10 people. Choose traditional pumpkin pie with maple whipped cream or pecan and dark chocolate pie ($30 each).

Mountain Shadows

Hearth ‘61

The Hearth ‘61 prix fixe menu options include meatballs with chickpea ragu, shaved Brussels Caesar and fall squash soup starters. The classic dinner comes with all the trimmings featuring local turkey from Two Wash Ranch, or a choice of other entrées including Tenderloin of Beef with blue cheese fondue and Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon with sweet potato gnocchi. Dessert options are pumpkin pie, butterscotch pecan pie or chocolate mousse cake.

For those who prefer to dine at home, individually portioned dinners are also available to-go. Each includes slow-roasted turkey, chorizo cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, country gravy, orange cranberry relish, buttered green beans and Parker House rolls. To-go meals are $59 per person, or $32 for children 12 and under. A whole butterscotch pecan pie ($38) or a pumpkin pie with orange Chantilly cream are available for $29. To-go prices already include tax and gratuity. Orders can be placed through 5 p.m. on Nov. 26. Orders are picked up curbside or at the Hearth ’61 Bar between 11 a.m. –  4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

The three-course, prix-fixe menu features an elevated take on classic, fall-inspired dishes like Pumpkin Ravioli with sage brown butter, Turkey with confit garlic mashed potatoes, Short Rib Bourguignon with pomme puree, Pumpkin Cheesecake and more. Each ticket includes a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.

Elements

Open to locals and resort guests this year, Sanctuary is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day in their signature restaurant, elements, for families to celebrate the holiday with traditional dinner, cocktails and live music. The multi-course menu created by Executive Chef Gregory James, features turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetable, gravy, cranberries and pumpkin pie, with live music and festive cocktails at Jade Bar.
