Feta Cowboy offers a new fusion taste sensation

When I heard the team behind Pita Jungle was opening a fusion concept restaurant combining Mediterranean and Southwestern flavors, I was perplexed, intrigued and excited. If you’ve been in the Valley for any length of time, you know you simply can’t go wrong with the healthy and scrumptious menu at Pita Jungle! So, I headed off into the sunset with my partner for dinner at Feta Cowboy.

Feta Cowboy musts:

  • Try the Hummus & Brisket, a taste sensation showcasing the brilliance of Feta Cowboy, featuring hummus, brisket, pomegranate BBQ sauce, kimchi, Mediterranean pico, radish pico, extra virgin olive oil and a smattering of herbs.
  • Order the Greens & Spicy Falafel with basmati rice, falafel, green lentils, mixed lettuce, zhug tahini, Mediterranean pice, pico de pickle, roasted cauliflower, fresh herbs, harissa vinaigrette, pepitas, hummus, zhug hummus and chips.
  • Check out Feta Cowboy’s glossary of sauces and picos (you can see every delicious ingredient!)

Feta Cowboy kicks up the fun factor

The ambiance at Feta Cowboy is good cheeky Southwestern fun — part spaghetti Western, part “Cowboys & Aliens,” and enough down-home rustic decor and pops of color to tie it all together perfectly. The fast-casual restaurant vibe is as fun and eclectic as its decor.

The menu = Yippee ki-yay!

The selections at Feta Cowboy are straightforward. Choose from a signature bowl, a signature handheld or signature dips. Whatever you choose, you’re going to get exactly what you crave. If you desire something that skews healthier, vegetarian or gluten-free, you can have that too.

Buckle up, because there are a lot of ingredients, and you will love the flavors that merge at the intersection of Mediterranean and Southwest.

There are eight different signature dips served with pita, and they are generous enough for two-to-four people to share, but you probably won’t want to! The hummus and carnitas are a great way to experience the taste fusion at Feta Cowboy. It includes zhug hummus, carnitas, harissa tahini, cole slaw, salsa verde and pomegranate BBQ sauce.

Hey partner; check out these signature bowls

The brisket kimchee is a Feta Cowboy signature bowl that combines so many flavors, that could seem overwhelming at first, but the combination works and is worth a deep dive. This tasty and healthy dish includes flavorful Calrose rice, Romano beans, brisket, sweet potatoes, fired Southwestern corn, pomegranate BBQ sauce, tangy kimchi, radish pico, harissa tahini, cole slaw, pico de pickle, harissa vinaigrette, fresh herbs, hummus, zhug hummus and pita chips. It’s a big selection of flavors that work together perfectly. This was my favorite selection at Feta Cowboy.

Other signature bowl selections include spicy roasted veggies, Norse Sea salmon bowl, FC skewered kabab burger, carnitas and more. Don’t see exactly what you like? No worries — just build your own bowl, pita or burrito.

Don’t forget to lasso these menu gems

Additional items at Feta Cowboy include wine, beer, house-made chocolate chip cookies (perfect after a long day out wrestling cattle or co-workers), and little baklava rolls that are simply delicious and a nice little Mediterranean bite of sweet after a meal.

Once we were ready to hit the trail at the end of the meal, it struck us that Feta Cowboy is a fun place to hang out and enjoy a healthy meal that’s a bit different and is a great value. The saying, “Go big or go home,” was heard loud and clear by Feta Cowboy, and they chose to “Go big!”

Feta Cowboy is on the northeast corner of McClintock and Warner in South Tempe. For more information, visit FetaCowboy.com.
