A clash of the kingdoms
With the alliance of kingdoms in a delicate balance, there are those who would betray the kingdom and its new monarch — Queen Luciana. As six gallant knights battle, dual and joust for the glory, honor and favor of the queen, guests cheer on their gallant knight and hope that he is not one who is quietly spearheading a betrayal.
Of course, all the enthusiastic cheering and encouragement is sure to work up the appetite of anyone in the castle, and the meal is fit for a king! You won’t miss what’s missing in the dinner utensils department because every selection is meant to be enjoyed with your bare hands. Not to worry, oh kingdom dwellers. The fantastic serfs who dole out the feast to the eager crowds help ensure guests can tidy up at their own seats!
Prior to the group dinner, there’s a fun chance to mix and mingle. Guests can meet some of the gallant knights, the queen, king or falconer of the Scottsdale kingdom while enjoying a cocktail or refreshing drink in the tavern.
Feasting and jousting
Once called to the Queen’s court, guests are ushered into the jousting arena, where everyone is assigned to a section to cheer on their assigned knight. Dinner is then served — medieval style — with no utensils … but again, you’ll never miss them.
Dinner starts with a savory tomato bisque soup and garlic bread, followed by sweet corn on the cob, half of a twice-baked potato and a generous seasoned chicken hind quarter.
All the while, knights show their horses’ exceptional abilities to cantor, jump, prance and dance before launching into a series of jousting and hand-to-hand combat matches.
An evening at Medieval Times Scottsdale is the perfect night out for families, out-of-town guests and couples. The food is fantastic, the service is on point, the action is exciting and it’s a great value for dinner and a show.
