With more than 60 locations nationwide, strategically, Cambria is a great place to stay. What guests will soon discover, is that you don’t necessarily need to choose a bougie, busy resort for a fun, convenient and relaxing getaway, packed with lots of cool extras.

Cambria Hotel Phoenix – North Scottsdale musts:

  • Cozy up next to the property’s quiet pool and jacuzzi area, with adjacent seating and a fireplace
  • Take advantage of the onsite Social Circle Bar and Restaurant, available for a full dinner and cocktails experience and breakfast
  • Ask the friendly staff about nearby entertainment, shopping, movies, dining, comedy shows and more (all are located within one mile)

A home-away-from-home welcome

Upon arrival, the first noticeable feature of this North Scottsdale Cambria location is the spacious and living room-like feel of the lobby. One of the major conveniences of Cambria is the collection of food and sundries targeting diverse travelers. There are selections of beer, wine, coffee and energy drinks, canned cocktails, grab-and-go sandwiches, protein bars, frozen entrees and ice cream, fresh fruit, chips, soup, cheese and other noshes. Frozen selections are a bonus because there are in-room microwaves.

In a new-ish collaboration between Cambria Hotel and Cambria Estate Winery — part of Jackson Family Wines — the duo joined efforts to provide a unique escape-within-an-escape to provide a chance to savor fabulous award-winning wines. Since 2021, Cambria Estate Winery’s Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir and Katherine’s Vineyard Chardonnay have been offered at Cambria Hotels’ restaurants and bars, countrywide and in its self-serve marketplace. Both brands are female-led and share the same synergy and values.

There is a beautiful bar/lounge offering cocktails, wine and beer, including local brewery fave, Uncle Bar’s Brewery. The ceiling and bar, completed with warm woods and recessed lighting, provide a welcoming place to enjoy a beverage or take advantage of the Monday through Friday happy hour.

The on-site restaurant serves hot breakfast and also a full dinner menu. Dinner boasts salads, small plates and large plates including the Angus burger, chicken on a ciabatta bun, a triple-decker club, basil pasta primavera, lemon-seared breast of chicken and seared flat iron steak, along with a selection of desserts.

The room experience

My room was a king suite, clocking in at around 600 square feet. The spacious suite boasts a front living room/office space with its own thermostat, sleeper sofa, chair and breakfast prep nook with a microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker.

The king-size “floating” bed includes undercarriage and headboard back lighting, and the most insanely comfortable bed and pillows I’ve experienced at any hotel in the last decade. Cambria Hotel should get a trophy for their bedding — it’s that good! The bedroom also has a generously sized closet with a barn door closure.

The large bathroom includes opaque sliding glass doors providing a light and bright space to get ready for a night out on the town. One bathroom bonus is the flattering backlit mirror, also equipped with Bluetooth so you can listen to all your own music! The oversized shower includes Pure By Gloss toiletries, featuring an unforgettably pleasant scent and luxurious quality. Kudos to Cambria for providing a generous supply of towels.

Other amenities include a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, wood hangers, an oversized closet with a barn door, a TV in both the living room/office and bedroom, a large dresser, blackout window shades, charge ports at multiple locations in the room, and an abundance of peace and quiet. Three free EV chargers, a workout facility, free wi-fi, a business center, a board room, an event space, and an outdoor lounge area with a fireplace, pool and jacuzzi round out the offerings.

A variety of upper-level rooms, including huge corner suites, offer great views of the surrounding desert and outlying mountains. Cambria Hotel Phoenix – North Scottsdale is ideal for those traveling for business or pleasure.

When staying at Cambria Hotel North Phoenix – Scottsdale, be sure to visit nearby Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) — the world’s only global musical instrument museum; Taliesin West (former home and studio of iconic architect, Frank Lloyd Wright) or participate in the Hidden in the Hills Artist Studio Tour, happening the last two weekends in November throughout nearby Cave Creek, Carefree and Scottsdale.

Desert Ridge Marketplace is only one mile away from Cambria Hotel and has just about everything you need for entertainment, dining and personal or gift shopping. Highlights for dining include Kona Grill, The Keg, Yard House, Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks and many other upscale and casual dining options.

One surprising fast casual food find at Desert Ridge Marketplace was Cupbop. The Shark Tank darling wound up accepting a deal from Shark, Mark Cuban in 2022. The Korean BBQ-in-a-cup concept includes an absolutely delicious combination of sweet potato “glass” noodles, rice, veggies and your choice of Korean BBQ proteins drizzled with a combo of sauces with varying heat levels. It’s an affordable food indulgence, for sure!

There are several fun stops for families or small groups at Desert Ridge Marketplace, including Dave Buster’s, AMC Theatres, Desert Ridge Improv for the best in national comedy and Copper Blues Live for great options for live music.

One seasonal attraction at Desert Ridge Marketplace is Ember Lounge and The District Dome after Dark. The holiday-themed, 21-and-over-only destination boasts unique seasonal cocktails and elevated noshes and an after-hours DJ and light show in the District Dome. Tickets are required as this space sells out.
